Lucas has been studying the Pacific Northwest Indians at school and they had a special celebration, complete with buffet of berries & smoked salmon plus a performance of poetry and songs. Lucas was picked to play the tamborine and boy, does that kid have rhythm. He gets it from me.
A few pics of Luke on the trampoline...gotta love the weather getting nicer.
My honey still got the moves...

Party Pooper
Last night Aaron, Lucas and Jonah took me out to dinner for my birthday. Aaron read my mind and surprised me with Indian food. We sit down to get ready to order and Lucas, our picky-picky eater, leans over and whispers, "This looks like the kind of place you'd get food poisoning." I actually thought the restuarant was quite nice compared to the hole-in-the-wall Indian place we love in the U district. Needles to say, even though he did try a few dishes, Lucas had ramen noodles when we got home and I have lots of yummy leftovers for lunch.

"Preemie, he is not"
"At least he doesn't act like one." Jonah had his 4 month check up this week and the doctor kept shaking her head saying she can't believe he was born 6 weeks early. He weighs 16 lbs 5 oz and is over 100th percentile in height if you use his adjusted birth date. She suggested we don't even adjust his birth date and measure him as any other 4 month old from now on. So on the normal 4 month scale, he's 90th percentile for height, 75th for weight and actually has a small head coming in at only 50th. Strange because we've always thought Jonah had a big head. Anyway, he's huge and surpassed all the 4 month milestones. He smiles and laughs and loves it when you sing to him. We have some great video and when I figure out how to post it, I will. He smiles when we look at books and last night we got down a few of the many boxes of children's books we saved from Lucas days. It brought back so many memories of the hours Aaron and I spent reading picture books with Lucas. It made us both smile. Jonah consistently sleeps through the night but only sleeps well during the day if I'm holding him. He's ready for solid food but I'm afraid. Now we're just going to have colorful (and staining) spit up to deal with.
This picture is a few months old but I've always loved it of Grandma and JB. They are both so cute.
We started out garden again this year. Aaron bought plants from the Boy Scout fundraiser and got 8 tomato plants. So we planted 6 and gave the last 2 to our neighbors. We have a little room for the squash and zucchini plants friends gave us and a few carrots Lucas wants to grow but not much room for much else in our small garden box. My mom is going to teach me how to can all our tomatoes. That is if I didn't get overzealous and plant them too early. It's been a little chilly still.
Lucas asked me to post this picture. He likes it, mostly because he took it. What a cute couple!

Cute Kids
What is this!? Like my third post in three days? I can't hardly believe it myself. I even told a few friends I actually have a blog. I keep wanting to say, don't expect frequent posts like this folks, I'm not a blogger. And I'm not. I do it mainly for the pictures. But just maybe this could become my "Lukey Update."
We got this crazy outfit from the sweetest, 80-year-old Brazilian lady in our ward. Complete with faux blue jeans, imitation arm tatoos, and skull and cross bones do-rag. Wouldn't want to meet this dude in a dark alley.
Jonah is spitting up as much as ever. It's like his eyes are bigger than his stomach. Lucas was exactly the same way, and I guess grew out of it sooner or later but I go through burp cloths and outfits like you wouldn't believe. I warn anyone who wants to hold him and I keep trying to tell JB that he's not going to make friends if he keeps throwing up on them. But I guess it's just one of those lessons he's going to have to learn the hard way. This lovely picture is when he urped and then rolled over into it. It didn't quite catch the nuance of the curdled milk dripping from his eyelashes. Wanna kiss?
These last three nights Jonah has slept in his own room and not ours for the first time. It was actually kind of hard for me to have my baby so far away. Granted, I slept great but it felt like such a big step. He's sleeping most the night from about 10pm to around 5am, except for last night he needed a feeding at 2am. Thank you Aaron. This is picture of the wall hangings I have up in Jonah's room. The first day I put it up Lucas walked into the room and exclamined, "That is SO Julia Ditto!"(one of my very best friends) I'll take that as a compliment, thank you.
Maybe Cotton is adjusting to baby after all.

And more Jonah Pics...
My mom took some cute pictures of Jonah while we were in Arizona.
Hello world!
This picture really makes the red in his hair stand out. It isn't quite that red in real life.
Thanks for the cute shirt, Renae. Lucas loves his little brother and is one person who can always make Jonah laugh.
Twenty minutes before he had to leave for school Lucas remembered it was crazy hair day at school. So with nothing on hand the creative, or crazy, mother that I am thought "What if we took washable Crayola markers to your head?" That creative, or crazy, kid replied "Great idea! I want blue, orange and green!" So we colored his head and just hope they wash out tonight. If not, Luke offered to just shave it. No problem, right?
Helloooo! Lucas loves this picture he took of JB.
Sleeping. One of the many wonderful talents of this ever-growing child. He's been sleeping through the night off and on and this morning he slept until 6:15am! Yippee. It's going to be a great day.
I love the look on Sean's face. "What am I supposed to do with him?" I love that they will be close in age and be buddies growing up. Plus Jonah looks like he's wearing a toupe.
We were able to go t Vancouver for Allison's baptism. She is so grown up and a sweet girl. It was a special day to be together.
Wii parnters.
Yes, the dog is still adjusting to someone taking his place.
