Portland for the 4th

We hadn't gone down to Portland for quite a while so we thought it was about time to hang out. I took the boys down last Monday and Aaron came by train on Wednesday. I know we all love family, but isn't fun when you would pick them as friends too? We had a wonderful { hot} week together playing and talking.

Man Time plus Sarah while the mommies slept in.

Jonah just had his 6 month check up and weighs 19 lbs, the same as his 15 month old petite cousin Sarah. She is such a sweet and busy girl who always had a "be-by!" and a smile for Jonah.

One afternoon we walked to the park where the parks and recreation had set up a rock wall. There was only one other kid there so Lucas and Jack bascially had it all to themselves, taking turns on each side, timing each other, and racing to the top. All the while we sat in the shade and played with the babies. Perfect afternoon.

Mr. B loves Baby Jonah and would always want to hold him, hug him and snuggle him. I can still hear in my head, "Hey! Joney, Jone, Jones!" which he must have exclaimed 20 times a day. So sweet. That boy loves babies and it's pretty lucky he will have his very own in just a few months.
Berries were the theme of the week and to commemorate we went berry picking twice, made lots of jam and froze bag after bag. Jackson and I had a goal to eat our weight in blueberries which I think Jack might have achieved. Me on the other hand, that is quite the loftier goal since I am still in the post baby phase. But I think I came close.

Jonah was a good sport.

Lucas took the camera for a while and snapped some candid shots...
Along with these budding artist shots...

And a cute one of Aaron and JB.

Self Portrait. Such a boy.

We had a 4th of July breakfast with Brant & Shareen and clan. Sweet family and cute kids!

A boy and his bacon.

Lucas being too cool to make a silly face.

Mud Pit 3000

Uncle Mark challenged all the boys in a muddy water fight one afternoon. It was the only way to spend some of those HOT July afternoons. Well, at least for the boys.

What joy a $10 slip and slide can give you when it's 100 degrees out.

{Look at those fat legs!}

We came home tired but happy after a 5 hour car trip (usually takes 3.5) and brought Jack with us for a fun week of cub scout day camp. Including the "secret adventure" disappointment...
